Garage Editions

small press publishing independent projects

About us

Garage Editions is a letterpress studio located in the river town of Hudson, NY. We are a husband and wife team who are artists and have combined our resources and experience in the areas of design, printing and publishing to establish Garage Editions. With studio and design degrees from Hunter College and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, we have taught at Parsons, Pratt and FIT in New York, and worked in publishing houses from Random House, to Scientific American. We are now publishing and curating our own projects of quality graphic work from a growing list of artists. Starting out in our garage in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, we are now living in the beautiful Hudson River Valley (in another garage). We publish independent projects and print on our Vandercook Oldstyle letterpress.

Zohar Lazar is an Illustrator and graphic novelist living in the Hudson Valley. His work is wide ranging, and looks absolutely awesome in print.  His work is often seen in the New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and GQ among others, but our first project with Zohar is notecards featuring sketches from Maine. More to follow.

Michelle Marozik Living in Brooklyn, New York, Michelle works as a high level book buyer and artist in the other spare moments. Her day job has inspired a series titled Corporate Office Drawings. With pencil, ink, or gouache Michelle depicts the ubiquitious work environment in drawings of the commonplace objects and areas found in an office space. Look for her upcoming artist book published by Garage Editions this political season. Should be a whopper.

Deirdre Newman  A decorative painter and botanical illustrator, Deirdre spends as much of her free time as possible admiring plants on long walks and hikes, drawing them, foraging for edible wild plants and mushrooms and eating them.

Steve Orlando  Comic writer from the Hudson Valley. We publish limited edition prints as collectible art in conjunction with his comic publications.

Kingsley Parker Artist in Residence. Kingsley can be found in his own art studio most days, with the odd house project thrown in. Town hounds is an ongoing series that has been inspired by local canines he has met while out with his own dog.

Karla Roberts  Artist, printer and studio manager. Print series includes Venetian Boats and the recent book titled Roadside Topiary.
